Description

My first "text" art ever, I guess. It took ages. :faint: Seriously. 20+ hours in photoshop cs2.

Here are all of the names of the Kentucky Derby Winners with the symbols: ( ) &^%$#@&* and the numbers 6890 used, to create the image of the finish line at Churchill Downs.

I didn't quite know where to put this guy in the gallery. If I'm wrong, let me know and I'll move it.

This has got to be one of the most unique and original pieces I've seen around. I love how you've managed to fit all the horses' names onto the piece and at the same time make them a meaningful part of the picture.
There are almost no flaws - the only two that I can spot is that the first jockey seems to be missing a bit of his face; I'm not an expert on text art, but perhaps this could've been bettered by a back slash (\) ? And also (but since I haven't seen how the Kentucky Derby ended, so maybe you're depicting how it actually finished) I think the mood of the piece might've been made more exciting if you positioned the other horses closer behind the one who's coming first.
Overall this is quite fantastic, and what I especially like about it is how it differs from the traditional text art - you've shifted and rotated the symbols around, added a simple gradient to the background - all these come together to make this piece something out of the ordinary. Awesome work!
