The Giant Oak Returns

I've long called him my "great oak in the corner". The first time I ever saw him was two seasons ago when he was the backup to Lamoureux. I remember it was second period. He stood there, leaning on the crossbar as relaxed as a cowboy leans against the side of his truck. I remember thinking, "No wonder you're second, you look half asleep." Then a surprise puck came screaming his way and he didn't even flinch, he just lifted up his hand and gloved that puck so deftly, so relaxed, it was like he was picking an apple out of a tree. Two years later, stepping back onto the ice for a third season, the great oak smiled as the largest opening crowd in team history let out a deafening roar just for him.
