This is so sick. I have seen this shot in my head for years and have never been able to get it. So so sick. Really gives you the feel that your taking the faceoff.

Thank you, that's exactly the sort of feeling I was going for. Overall, it's something I'm always trying to get in my photographs which is putting the viewer into the game. This particular shot has always been a favourite of mine. I've taken this sort of photograph many times before, but Brett gave me exactly what I was looking for which is that intense focus and clarity in the seconds before. Sometimes the guys will look down at the ice, or look at each other, or look away in a bluff, or even look directly at me, but I wanted eyes-on-the-puck and Brett gave me it. :)

great photo. hate how commercialized sports are..if pro teams start advertising on jerseys i swear i will boycot

A lot of the European teams do advertise on their jerseys. And ours have a few logos of sponsors here and there, but they're not overwhelming. Operating rinks and owning professional teams is unbelievably expensive so I understand why they do it, but I agree, I hate the look of it.

Yup. A good player knows to look at the puck in his hand rather than the spot on the ice where it will be dropped.
